About Black Sand Remixes

From 2002 - 2009 I released remixes as darkspringxl - The majority of these had been Depeche Mode related but I had also ventured into other areas as I have a wide taste in music.
Black Sand Remixes began officially at the end of 2009. The idea was to create extended versions (or Extensions) of tracks that came from the Post Punk / New Wave period, but quickly came to encompass a variety of styles.

On this blog you will find different blocks which will be updated on a regular basis, so please check back to see what is new.

Front 242 - Headhunted - A Remix Collection

Front 242 were the first EBM / Industrial type band that I got into having read a brilliant review in Record Mirror of the Headhunter / Welcome To Paradise single. From them I discovered Frontline Assembly & Skinny Puppy both of which spurred on my interest in this style.

I chose not to remix Headhunter for this compilation as it's perfect already and it's one of those songs that just doesn't need anything done to it. At least not yet.
